Bernard M. Baruch School of Business

Named for: Bernard M. Baruch (Class of 1889)
Architect: Thompson, Holmes and Converse Erected: 1928

 

Bernard M. Baruch was a prominent financier and public servant. The building was erected on the original site of the Free Academy building, and was affectionately known as “City Downtown.” The Baruch School became a separate CUNY four-year college in 1968. The rear of the plate is labeled “The School of Business.”
