Lewisohn Stadium
Named for: Adolph Lewisohn
Architect: Arnold Brunner Erected: 1915 Demolished: 1973

Philanthropist Lewisohn provided the funds to build the Stadium on a site provided by New York City. Although used for College sports (including football until 1951) and ROTC drills and reviews, the stadium is best known as the home of summer symphony concerts held yearly through 1966. The North Academic Center now sits on the site. The rear of the plate is simply labeled “The Stadium. ”
